The London Housing Foundation has been supporting the Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards since 2003. Now in its eleventh year The Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards are the country’s leading homelessness awards with prize money of £51,000 awarded to the organisations which demonstrate innovative and creative solutions for tackling homelessness in the capital, as well as recognising good practice.
This year the outright winner will receive £25,000 with £10,000 going to each of the runners-up and £2,000 going to other shortlisted projects.
The awards are open to registered social landlords, housing and social service departments, NHS trusts, and voluntary organisations in London.
Broadway Howard Sinclair, chief executive (winner of the awards in 2009), said:
‘It was a great honour for Broadway and Barka to win the Andy Ludlow awards and was the highlight of two and half years work with vulnerable migrants from the A10 accession countries.
‘Winning this prestigious award has enabled us and other agencies to work together far more effectively to help homeless people who have no right of access to public funds. The other benefit has been to help others expand our model of working to other parts of the UK and Europe’.
Run by London Councils on behalf of the capital’s 33 boroughs, the awards are sponsored by London Housing Foundation along with the government’s department for Communities and Local Government, Shelter and London Councils' Grants Committee. The awards are supported by Inside Housing magazine.
